While people are still moving into Florida and the Tampa Bay area the numbers are actually decreasing. About 200,000 less people moved into Florida in 2007 than in 2005. While the state still realized a gain of 35,000 people in 2007 this was only the second time since 1990 that fewer than 50,000 people moved into Florida. What is to blame for the down turn of people moving into tampa bay and the rest of Florida? Many experts are saying that the real estate bubble, the rising property taxes that were a result of the real estate bubble, and higher home owners insurance are to blame. While that might have been true over the last year, we can expect a greater increase this year since many of those real estate related issues have been addressed. Homeowners insurance prices in Florida are starting to drop, real estate prices in Tampabay and the rest of Florida have dropped to the point where we are now in a buyers market, and the real estate bubble has popped long ago. We are also seeing an increase in people who recently moved out of Florida actually coming back. It’s hard to beat the weather & the way of life in Tampa Bay Florida.
