On Tuesday, July 29, 2008, after looking at all the parents complaints and at least one threatened lawsuit, Hernando County has gotten rid of the new K-12 dress code! With only three weeks left until school starts, parents that have already bought their childs uniforms can put them away. For years many the Hernando County Schools have required a uniform but the new policy would have extended the uniforms to middle schools and even one high school.
The biggest complaint was the inconsistences between schools. The dress code would vary from school to school and when a child would change schools they would also have to change dress codes. The existing school dress codes will still apply.
